Intro

Telecom2 is a Business to Business telecommunications group offering services across various technology sectors. Having already commercial presence in Spain, we are now looking to expand our technical team with a new location in Madrid.

We are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer in Test to join our new team in Madrid, and work on our products across various sectors of our group (Telecoms, Payment gateways, CRMs, Back-office platforms, Age verification, Media streaming, etc).

You should have a can-do attitude and eagerness to work and make an impact. If you are eager to learn new things, and work on a variety of established products, then the Telecom2 group is the place for you. You will be working as part of a technical team across London and Madrid within a fast-paced, fun, challenging and creative environment.

We take pride in being agile with the real meaning of the term. We have a pragmatic environment where the entire team contributes to the design, development and maintenance of our product portfolio, without too much bureaucracy.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test in our team, you will:

  • Work across multiple teams and products
  • Help us introduce automation in our development pipelines across a variety of products
  • Write test cases, and code the actual tests (We are currently using Cypress)
  • Familiarise yourself with all stages of the development lifecycle, from conception to deployment - Nothing is off limits and we encourage the team to know as much as possible about each product
  • Take part in code review sessions and come up with recommendations to improve the software development lifecycle
  • Perform both Black and White box testing - This means that you must have a good understanding of algorithms and data structures

Main requirements

  • Good written and spoken English
  • Education or a proven professional track related to software science / development / engineering / testing or relevant field
  • Good knowledge of at least one modern programming language (for example: PHP, Java, Javascript, Python, etc) - You must be able to read and understand code, as well as write code as part of your role
  • At least one year of hands on industry experience in a relevant role
  • Experience working with tools like Cypress, Selenium, Cucumber, JUnit, PHPUnit, PhantomJS, etc
  • Ability to communicate clearly at a technical and end-user level
  • Good documentation skills

  • Security testing
  • The Linux CLI
  • Team player, dependable and able to learn on the job
  • Enthusiasm for learning and using new technologies
  • Good communication and cooperation skills
  • Ability to take charge of your time and prioritise problems to solve

Perks

  • Access to training courses and material
  • Company paid travel and accommodation to London
  • Friendly working environment with great social events
  • Company away days
  • Team lunches and drinks
  • Chance to be part of an evolving and growing team in a technically focused company
